HOME DOG BOARDING
IN ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT, SWINDON
A TRUE HOME FROM HOME
Walks with Paws are fully insured and we are licensed by Wiltshire Council to offer home boarding services for dogs within Royal Wootton Bassett, Swindon. Home boarding is a much nicer alternative than boarding kennels. Unlike many traditional kennels we always arrange a pre-service visit so that we can meet your pet and they can meet us too!
Your dog will get daily walks in the local area, play games as well as interaction and socialisation with others. We don't use kennels, runs or cages your pet will stay in the comfort of it's pet sitter's own home making this a truly home from home service.
We know how hard it can be to leave your pet whilst you go away that’s why, every step of the way we can send you regular updates including pictures of how they're getting on. Some of our pet carers have there own dogs, so we always invite you and your dog over to meet us to ensure everyone is happy with one another’s company.
YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
Are you licensed?
Yes! We've proudly been awarded five stars (the highest rating possible) by the local authority. A copy of our licence will be on display for you to view.
Why should I choose a licensed boarder?
Under the Animal Welfare Act, all boarding establishments no matter how big or small have to be inspected by their local authority.
Does my dog need to be vaccinated?
In short, yes the law requires us to ensure every dog boarded is vaccinated against Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus and Lepto.
Are you able to cater for dogs which suffer from medical conditions?
Yes, our home boarders are experienced in looking after dogs with a range of medical conditions. We are also able to administer prescribed medication. You should make us aware of any medical conditions at the time of booking.
Are you able to cater for dogs which suffer from separation anxiety or behavioural problems?
Unfortunately, we aren't always best suited to look after dogs which suffer from behavioural problems due to being in a home environment. All behavioural problems should be discussed at the time of booking to ensure we are able to accommodate your dog's needs.
My dog doesn't like other dogs, will this be a problem?
Currently, all of our home boarders have their own dog/s so we wouldn't be able to provide boarding services for you at this time.
Does my pet need to be insured?
We like all dogs in our care to be insured, in the event of them falling ill. If you don't have pet insurance, we can provide you with an exclusive discount where you will receive 4 weeks for free or at a reduced rate.
Do you offer trials?
Yes, we invite you and your dog to meet our home boarder and their dogs before any bookings can be accepted. Depending on the length of the stay or how your dog settles, we may recommend a payable trial night to ensure your dog is able to settle in before being left for a longer period.
Are you able to pick my dog up from me?
Yes, we do offer a transport service which is DEFRA approved. Please contact us in advance to ensure we have availability and for a quote.
What happens if my dog falls ill within your care?
We will contact you (or your emergency contact) to inform you that your dog has fallen ill and what our next steps are. We'll contact either your own vet (if local) or our own vet to discuss your pet's health with them, if needed we will transport your pet to the vet where they can be seen and treated. We will keep you updated with any treatment the vet recommends as well as your pet's recovery.
Can I find out how my dog is whilst I am away?
Yes! You'll be able to contact us throughout your holiday to check in and see how your dog is. We'll also send you regular updates and pictures.
